Dad's Broken Collar Bone Surgery Tomorrow

While on vacation in Montana my dad broke his collar bone. He went mountain biking with my brother Andy and my Uncle Phil in Bozeman. The trail was apparently rough and streep, he was going too fast when he hit a rut and just flipped over the handle bars.

All that said he had opted out of having surgery because they told him that surgery would not help him heal faster. For that seven weeks he has been wearing a brace to help the bone heal together but unfortunately that bones are just not healing together.

Tomorrow he will be going for surgery to put the bones together with screws and a plate. Then he will been the healing process all over again. I ask that you all keep him in your prayers as this surgery is potentially more complicated by a bone fragment that has been floating very close to his upper portion of his lung. This complication presents a risk that the doctors could puncture a lung during the operation. He has been told that there is a good chance that he will be spending the night at the hospital so that they can help manage his pain. He is however determined to go home right after the surgery. I will be going over to be with him and help my mom at the house after the surgery. I will plan to keep you posted. Thanks in advance for your prayers!
